Paul was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and has worked in a variety of jobs with mixed success. He’s been a builder’s labourer (he was keen, but rubbish), a barman (merely adequate) a waiter (really rubbish), a roofer (rubbish), he’s sold double glazing (rubbish), garden furniture (all right at that), and toys (OK). Somehow he never got sacked. Since then he’s been a children’s books editor (not bad at that, actually) and now writes for what may loosely be described as a living.
In between all that he got married, had a couple of kids and moved to Worthing in England (good).
